SCRIP promotes scientific rigour and evidence-based reasoning in the drafting of public policy for the benefit of the public and to facilitate the sound administration of the law. It also seeks to advance the education of the public in the importance of scientifically-sound legislation and to promote research for the public benefit in all aspects of that subject and to make the useful results available. We comment on, raise awareness of and to provide technical advice on the soundness or otherwise of the science underlying existing and proposed legislation
